LAK CRETE CEMENT MORTAR

#

LAK CRETE cement mortar is specially formulated and manufactured to produce masonry mortar for use in bricks, blocks and stones. It contents flexural bond strength and adhesive properties.

Cement Mortar TYPES M, N, and S
  • Description Types M, N, and S Cement Mortar.
  • Basic Use LAK CRETE CEMENT MORTAR is specially formulated and manufactured to produce masonry mortar for use in brick, block, and stone masonry construction where flexural bond strength and lower air contents are desired.
  • Composition and Materials LAK CRETE CEMENT MORTAR consists of a mixture of Portland cement, limestone, and chemical admixtures to provide plasticizing properties and other enhanced performance attributes. These components are proportioned at the cement plant under controlled conditions to assure product consistency.
  • Types LAK CRETE CEMENT MORTAR are available in a standard gray and pure white colors, unique to each cement plant. Color selection may be made from the local LAK CRETE CEMENT MORTAR sample kit which is available through your LAK CRETE representative.
  • Installation Other factors, such as type and absorption of masonry unit, climate and exposure, applicable building codes, and engineering requirements should also be considered.
  • Admixtures No admixtures should be used without the written approval of the architect or engineer of record.
  • Cold Weather Construction Mortar should be maintained at a minimum temperature of 40°F as prescribed by applicable standards. No admixtures should be used without the written approval of the architect or engineer of record.
  • Hot Weather Construction Mortars exposed to hot winds and full sun will tend to lose workability due to the evaporation of water. Common sense precautions should be taken to protect the mortar such as shading the mixer, wetting mortar boards, covering wheelbarrows and tubs, and balancing mortar production to meet demand. If it is necessary to restore workability, mortar may be re-tempered by adding water and remixing. No mortar shall be used beyond 2½ hours after mixing. Please note that re-tempering may result in color variations of the mortar.

Guide for Selecting the right Mortar type is given below

#
Physical Requirements for Masonry Cement Mortars
Mortar Type Compressive Strength ASTM C109 Minimum, psi (MPa) Water Retention Minimum % Maximum % Air
M 2500 (17.2) 75 12
N 750 (5.2) 75 14
S 1800 (12.4) 75 12
Water

All water should be clean and free from organic material and deleterious amounts of dissolved acids, alkalis and salts.

Precautions

Freshly mixed cement, mortar, grout or concrete may cause minor skin irritations. Avoid direct contact with skin and eyes and if contacted, wash exposed areas promptly with water.

Coverage

Mortar thickness can go from 1.5cm up to 2.5cm. Each 25kg bag can cover 8sqft. Coverage may change depending on the surface condition.

LAK CRETE TILE ADHESIVE

#

LAK CRETE TILE ADHESIVE is a cement based polymerized formulation with excellent adhesive properties with high bonding strength and water proofing ability. It is suitable for laying of glazed, unglazed, vitrified, porcelain, granite and terra cotta tiles on masonry walls and floors.

  • Areas of application Cement floors and walls, Swimming pools, Water tanks, Bathrooms
  • Mixing & Application
    1. Put LAKCRETE TILE ADHESIVE powder into a clean mixing container, add water gradually while mixing until a lump free homogeneous consistency is achieved.
    2. It is recommended that mechanical mixing (200-300 rpm) should be used for 2-3 minutes to ensure proper dispersion of the components.
    3. Before starting the application, ensure that the surface must be clean and free from loose particles, dust and oil.
    4. Follow the same method of normal application.
Note – Tiles should be fixed within 20 minutes once the adhesive is being applied

    3. If irritation persists, seek medical attention.

LAK CRETE FLEX

#

LAK CRETE FLEX is a chlorinated rubber modified cementitious water proofing system. It’s a two component nontoxic, flexible mixture with very high adhesion on those common substrates in construction.

Lak Crete Flex is a two-component product. Component “A” is a water-based special chlorinated modified rubber compound and component “B” is a mortar based mixture of special cements, additives and well-graded aggregates.

Once applied and cured, Lak Crete Flex provides a non-toxic, flexible and waterproof coating with very high adhesion on those common substrates in construction.

  • Application Fields
    1. Waterproofing and protection of water retaining structures, such as drinking water tanks, reservoirs, water mains and swimming pools.
    2. Covers shrinkage and airline cracks in the concrete.
    3. Acts as an anti-fracture membrane between the substrate and other finishing coats.
    4. Withstands atmospheric pollution, corrosive effects of salt water and freeze/thaw cycles.
    5. Excellent adhesion and easy to use. Does not require bonding agents and can only be applied on wet surfaces.
    6. Non-toxic. Suitable for contact with potable water.
    7. Longer lasting than other coatings, avoiding maintenance costs. 8. Environmentally friendly.
    9. Withstands root penetration, when properly reinforced with fiber glass mesh.
  • Areas of application Water tanks, Swimming Pools and Ponds, Bathrooms, Roof tops, Balcony, Flower troughs
  • Mixing & Application

Put Lak Crete Flex Liquid into a clean mixing container. Add the Lak Crete Flex Powder gradually while mixing until a lump free elastic consistency is achieved. NO ADDITION OF WATER IS ALLOWED. It is recommended that mechanical mixing (400-500 rpm) should be used for 2-3 minutes to ensure proper dispersion of the components.

Pre-wet the surface with clean water. Do not allow water ponding. Apply the mixed material onto the prepared surface using a block brush, squeegee or roller in a stifling action. Apply 1-2 coats finish depending on site conditions and film thickness required. If a trowel is used for application, all undulating or uneven areas must be patched to level before applying the Lak Crete Flex to prevent the material from building up too thick in one application.

Before the 2nd coat is applied, the 1st coat must be left for approximately 2-3 hours depending on the thickness, substrate porosity and the temperature until it is dry and tacky. Lak Crete Flex must be protected by rendering or scree ding after application.

  • Cleaning All tools must be cleaned with water after use. Once it cures it can only be removed by mechanical methods.
  • Coverage 24M2 per 30kg pack. Coverage may change depending on the surface condition
  • Storage Store container in a cool dry place. Intact containers can be stored for 6months from the date of manufactured.
  • Safety & Health Both components are non-toxic by themselves, but powder component is an abrasive compound. Avoid eye and skin contact for both components. Protective rubber gloves and safety goggles must be used to mix and apply them. In case of eye contact, rinse thoroughly with clean water but do not rub. In case of skin contact, wash affected areas with water and soap. If irritation persists, seek medical assistance.
